Roberto Pignataro published three art books between 1968 and 1974. The goal was to present his artistic ideas in a format that would be more accessible and less ephemeral than a conventional gallery-based art show.
Each book was created differently, with varying techniques and formats. What they shared in common was the premise of telling a story solely through the use of abstract imagery, a purely visual journey; therefore, any form of written language that could taint the experience, such as forewords, prefaces, manifestos, etc., was intentionally left out.
At the time, the books were distributed to bookstores across Buenos Aires and also mailed out as promotional material to art-related entities around the world.
