1965/67 - Galería Florida y Lavalle
(Oct 10, 1965 – Jul 15, 1967) In 1965, Pignataro staged a retrospective show in downtown Buenos Aires. Instead of using a traditional gallery-based setup, he leased a display window at the “Florida y Lavalle” commercial galleria, a prime location at the intersection of the city’s busiest pedestrian streets. This decision allowed him full control over the exhibition’s duration while ensuring his work reached a broader, constantly shifting audience. Displaying two pieces at a time, he maintained a rotating selection that encouraged repeat engagement from passersby. Meanwhile, the retrospective ran in parallel with other exhibitions, where he continued unveiling new work. ➔ Learn more
